Laurence House Fitout
A new office building in Catford, Lewisham (1989-1993) situated on the existing site the former St Laurence's Church opposite the Catford Town Hall and Broadway Theatre. The site overlooks the busy South Circular Road.
A proposal was developed to create a new public foyer that accessed all the main parts of the building and a new public library.
The 7 storey building sits above the public entrance. The main focus of the entrance was the reception desk and internal fitout that brings in natural light within the double heighted space linking the private areas to the public space outside. The reception desk was designed to replicate the crown of Lewisham the main symbolic logo for the borough.
The stainless steel cladding and timber finishes give the reception a professional wand warm feeling. The design of the offices above are following the same material palette.
The building was completed and open in 1993.
